Rapids are formed when water level is medium to low and flow is fast, which causes it to strike the rocks with force causing white water rapids. In summers, the water level is high and the rocks are submerged under water, so very few white water rapids are formed, where as in winters, the water level is low and hence you can have more adventure and thrills passing through the rapids.
The rapids are graded on a scale of 1 to 5, basis their difficulty.
Grade 1 : Easy rapids with small waves. There are no obstacles – it is easy sailing through these.
Grade 2 : Moderate difficulty with clear passages – does not require much effort.
Grade 3 : A bit difficult with high irregular waves and narrow passages which require maneuvering and effort.
Grade 4 : These are Difficult rapids with powerful waves which require very precise maneuvering.
